- Saucy only uses .jpg images. Most camera's default to this file format.
- In order for us to create a sign with a crisp image of your horsey, it is imperative that you provide a high resolution image (minimum 96 dpi); dpi stands for "Dots Per Inch". The more dots per inch, the better the image will be. This means that when you take the picture, make sure your camera is set to the highest image quality possible. If you are using a program that imports photos from your camera, you should be able to see the dpi in the properties of the image. You can also assume a higher dpi if the file size is large. More dots per inch (dpi) means more information to store.
Note Example A. This is a small image, the dimension is a mere 72 dpi. When we increase the size, the image quality is degraded. Alternatively, look at example B. The original image is 150 dpi, so when we increase the size, the quality is still great. Keep this in mind when sending your image.
The majority of customers send us fabulous images, and we can usually work with what we receive. If the image is taken using your camera, and you send it directly to Saucy without changing the image in a photo editing program, it will most likely be good quality.
